My iPod nano screen is broken, it got crushed. Their is no exterior damage, but the LED screen on the inside is cracked and nothing will display. Songs will still play and everything audio will work perfectly, but the screen is broken. Do I need a new iPod, or can I get it fixed? thanks

The weird thing is i had exactly songs too lol but i contacted apple and asked friends and stuff and even posted a question on here. What i eventually ended up doing was contacting apple and they gave me an option to download all the purchased music i had but before i did all that i reinstalled the newest itunes. It was a blank library and i was sad but i said to my self quoti guess ill just have to get cds from friends or download limewirequot so i plugged in my ipod and than to my suprise all my music from my ipod went into my library. So my sister sold me her ipod and i bought myself a prepaid music card. I did everything the card said to do, i set up my account, all that is done. What do you absolutely need? Just a computer with USB preferably . because its a lot faster. And if youre using a PC, make sure your iPod is the Windowsformatted variety I dont believe you can even buy a Macformatted version anywhere but through Apple, but Macs can use a Windows model if you want to buy it elsewhere. Thats it. You already get the free iTunes software, the headphones, the synccharger cable, and a sleeve to at least somewhat protect it from scratches. Oh yeah, and music. Either access to the internet for downloaded music, or CDs if you just want to rip your existing collection.brbrWhat would I suggest buying? Get some sort of case instead of using the sleeve. Get at least a screenguard to protect that part from scratches, if your case doesnt include one already. Get better headphones, if you dont already have them. Consider buying an AC adapter, just because you might not always have access to a computer to charge it with and dont buy the expensive Apple adapter, since you can get at least one rd Party model with a handy retractable cable for half the price or you might not want to leave your computer turned on all night just to charge your iPod for a few hours.brbrDocks are unnecessary and keep in mind that most arent compatible with any cases or sleeves, speakers are nice if you dont want to always be tied to using headphones, a car charger cable or even just a car charger USB adapter if you want to get by with your original cable is a musthave if you drive long distances a lot. How do I get songs from a cd on my ipod??????

When you open itunes, and have put the cd into the drive you should see on the navigation on the left hand side that there is a cd there so click that, if it doesnt automaticly sync to your ipod then select all the songs on the CD and then drag or copy and paste them over to your itunes library. Then go to File then create a new playlist. Once you have named your playlist, click and drag the synced files from your itunes library into that file. Then go to your ipod then click along the top navigation which will then appear in the middle of itunes quotmusicquot then select sync so that you can again select which files you would like to sync, giving you the option to select the file quotmusicquot do that then they will automaticly go onto your ipod

Yes if its from a CD then you should be able to import the contents of the CD into the itunes software. I do it all the time. Make sure though that the CD can function in a regular CD player before you try to import it into your itunes folder.

Theres no exact time before it will break. It may never especially if its a newer model. Ive had four s. My first one lasted a little over a year and then red ringed. Its replacement lasted nearly before red ringing. My third lasted months before the disc drive broke and its replacement has lasted almost months now. brbrThe newer s are made much better than the older ones. Theyre quieter and cooler. Repair all malfunctions is free within the first year under the standard warranty. The extended warranty covers it for an additional years for the red ring of death an E, but thats only for the older not the slim models. If it breaks out of warranty, its better to replace it with a new one.
