Ipod question?

Ipod question?
So my sister sold me her ipod and i bought myself a prepaid music card. I did everything the card said to do, i set up my account, all that is done. So I started browsing for music, I clicked on it to purchase it, it asked me if i was sure i clicked yes but am i suppose to see something that says downloading? mine says quotsyncingquot im so confused. I checked my purchase history and there is no purchases. Where does the music go after i purchase it? where do i look for my downloaded music and how do i get it on my ipod, i tried following the instructions on itunes but i guess im doing everything wrong, maybe someone can break it down a little easier for me..please, any help would be appreciated..thanks in advance!

it should be in a folder called, purchased if its not, check yur library.
