im planning on getting an ipod .. what are some of the things that are essential that you MUST have in order for it to work.. not like the iHOME and stuff but the actual necessities

What do you absolutely need? Just a computer with USB preferably . because its a lot faster. And if youre using a PC, make sure your iPod is the Windowsformatted variety I dont believe you can even buy a Macformatted version anywhere but through Apple, but Macs can use a Windows model if you want to buy it elsewhere. Thats it. You already get the free iTunes software, the headphones, the synccharger cable, and a sleeve to at least somewhat protect it from scratches. Oh yeah, and music. Either access to the internet for downloaded music, or CDs if you just want to rip your existing collection.brbrWhat would I suggest buying? Get some sort of case instead of using the sleeve. Get at least a screenguard to protect that part from scratches, if your case doesnt include one already. Get better headphones, if you dont already have them. Consider buying an AC adapter, just because you might not always have access to a computer to charge it with and dont buy the expensive Apple adapter, since you can get at least one rd Party model with a handy retractable cable for half the price or you might not want to leave your computer turned on all night just to charge your iPod for a few hours.brbrDocks are unnecessary and keep in mind that most arent compatible with any cases or sleeves, speakers are nice if you dont want to always be tied to using headphones, a car charger cable or even just a car charger USB adapter if you want to get by with your original cable is a musthave if you drive long distances a lot. Everything else is on an asneededwanted basis.
